Website redesign checklist for a Los Angeles small business

Published August 10, 2026 · Galaxy Gleam Media

A redesign should make it easier for the right customer to understand your offer and contact you. Use this checklist before changing colors, adding pages or buying ads.

1. Define the business goal

Choose one primary action: call, request a quote, book an appointment or visit a location. Supporting actions can exist, but the main path should be obvious on mobile.

2. Keep the pages customers need

3. Check mobile usability

Test menus, buttons, forms, phone links and text at normal phone width. A customer should not need to pinch-zoom or hunt for the next step.

4. Build useful SEO foundations

Give each important page a unique title, description and heading. Link related services together, use descriptive image text, keep the canonical URL correct and include the page in the sitemap.

5. Make proof specific and accurate

Show real work only when you have permission. Describe what was delivered without inventing results, reviews or guarantees. If you do not have proof yet, explain the process clearly instead.

6. Test before launch

Next step: Start with the page closest to revenue: the service customers are already searching for.
